Well everyone… today is technically my last day of my photo challenge, however I am probably going to continue daily posts. It may get crazy the next couple of weeks, but I will try my hardest. I have a few things already prepared from the last couple months that I think you will enjoy seeing and will be part of my posts.
My mom will fly in tomorrow evening and we(me and the kids) are beyond excited! We can’t wait. My sister visted us soon after I had Kayli here in Okinawa in 2008. It was a great visit and I missed her dearly when she left and wanted her to come back all the time. I am so excited that my mom will be here to help me for a little while after this baby is born. I am excited to show her around the place I have called home for the last 2 years and 9 months. I have spent this evening preparing for her to come. YAY FOR MOMS!!!
So… it still hasn’t hit me that I will have a newborn next Wednesday. It blows my mind actually. It almost seems more UNREAL than the thought of when I was having my first baby back in 2004. I don’t know why it seems so unreal. Maybe it’s the fact that this pregnancy has just FLOWN by, or maybe it’s the fact that it will be my last and I’m a little in denial, or maybe it’s the fact that my husband isn’t here for this last birth to hold my hand and comfort me through surgery. Whatever the reason.. it is NOT a realization yet. I’m still waiting for it to hit me. Maybe it won’t hit me until I see his little face. Speaking of his little face, I am so very curious to see who he will look like. Will he be dark and look like Jesse and Kayli and daddy, or will he look like kayden with light skin and me. Will he be a mixture of both? Will he look nothing like any of us. I guess we’ll have to wait a week and see. I’m a little nervous not having my husband in surgery with me. I know my mom will be with me and well… she has been with me my whole life, but there is something about the comfort and love of your partner. Gosh darnit…now I’ve got my self crying. My wonderful husband has been there for all 3 other births. He knows when to start comforting me, he knows when to take all the right pictures, he just knows the drill now. I wonder to myself… will my mom be able to handle seeing her daughter on a table cut open while this baby is being pulled out? Will she know when to take the right pictures? I know everything will be okay and I am BEYOND grateful for my mom coming across the world to be my support beam! I might be a complete wreck had she not agreed to come and be with me during this time. So I think it just really hit me that my husband isn’t going to be here. That’s a hard thought to swallow. Mom I love you and am so thankful your going to be here for me! Now that I’m bawling… and am all fluster headed, I’ll give you my 30th day photo. I think it is the most adorable pig I have EVER seen in my life. Jesse drew this picture this morning. You can’t tell me that it is not adorable and that you wouldn’t want one on your wall too
I would love if you would continue to follow me in my journey’s in the next weeks, months and years even. It may not all relate to photography for a while, but sometimes we all need a break and to be inspired like I was in the beginning of this challenge. It has really opened my brain to my own thoughts, which I tend to hide. It has made me appreciate all the little things in life.
“Make time for the little things, in the end they are the big things” Author Unknown.

Today was a lazy Sunday. I had all intentions of doing the little laundry I have and then going to the Naha Tug of War. Well I chickened out on going to the Tug of War. I just couldn’t picture my very pregnant body, stringing along 3 small children to a very crowded event with over 300,000 spectators attending. I imagined one of my kids getting lost in the crowd, or someone accidentally pushing me and my water breaking. Leaving me to TRY to find a cab to take me to the hospital that is at least 30 minutes away, as I end up having this baby in the back of the cab with 3 children there watching. Not my idea of a fun time. I really should have gone since this is my last year here, but those thoughts very much deterred me from going. I didn’t get my laundry done either. I did however accomplish the joys of watching my children enjoy the beautiful day outside. I enjoyed the beautiful flowers outside. I wanted to mess with my Macro Lens more because I need to learn how to use it better. It was a nice cool day, not sunny, but not too cloudy, just perfect. As I lay on the ground trying to photograph these small flowers, I’m so loudly interrupted by one of the cutest 2 year olds. She stole every flower I tried to take a photo of. It was quite funny, for a minute. I was finally able to distract her so I could take a few photos. I’m still working on the Macro shots, but I did get a beautiful photo of some Jasmine flowers that reminded me of a beautiful flowing, beach wedding with white sand. Enjoy the beauty of the world, the laughter of your children and the blessings in your life.

Well my challenge is coming to a close in a few days. I have had so much fun doing this challenge. I think I may actually just continue to blog daily and bring you a photo everyday. I will of course miss a few days here and there especially when I’m in the hospital bringing my new bundle into the world. As you may notice…. Kristi James Photography has had a facelift. I have been wanting to do this for a couple months now, I couldn’t decide on colors, couldn’t decide on fonts, just couldn’t decide. I just haven’t been happy with my colors, so I have been searching for the right ones. I started off with bright and colorful, then went to a slightly less colorful, and then to mute colors. Mute colors are just not me…I’m bright and happy. These colors were YUMMY to me! My next challenge was deciding whether to keep my fonts of my logo or not. I wasn’t COMPLETELY happy with them anymore, yet I didn’t like any other fonts. I recently discovered these fonts and just fell in love!! They are so me. So yummy colors and fun fonts = A new and improved Kristi James Photography. Now, while I don’t have EVERYTHING ready on the site, I couldn’t wait to show you all my fun new look. I will be revealing new packages once it gets closer to us settling in our new home in South Carolina. So for now that’s missing and it doesn’t really matter because I can’t do photos for anyone at this time anyway. Take a look around and leave me some love. I know your out there Let me know who you are and let me know what you think and what you want in a photographer!! So in this process I have had a love, hate relationship with my computer. Sometimes it’s snappy fast and sometimes it’s BEYOND slow. I can’t figure out what makes it click. So here is what I do a lot of my work on OH by the way.. I am super excited because my mom will be joining us here in Okinawa on Tuesday!!! Then baby a week later on Wednesday the 20th! I can’t wait! It’s come so fast!

Today is one of those days that you just stop and can’t help but be thankful for what and who you have. You love your children and your family everyday, but there are days when something happens that just makes you stop and REALLY think about how blessed you are. Today was one of those for me today. I look at my children and I am beyond blessed to have them in my life. I am beyond blessed to have the wonderful husband I do. He puts up with so much from me and would give me the world if he could. I love him so much.
I was sitting back, looking at my children and just smiling. I couldn’t stop smiling. They are just so innocent. I am so glad I am able to raise them in a happy household and a household where we give them love and give them a good life. It also makes me think how unfortunate some children are to grow up in a “nasty” household or a bad one. It amazes me that even though I can be “mean” according to my older boys, that 3 seconds later they want hugs and kisses and still love me so much. They know nothing but love right now. It makes me happy that they can trust me and know that my husband and I are their safe. My children bring so many smiles to my face! I love my wonderful life. Things could not be better, well… besides my husband being home. I know he will return soon and we will love and cherish each and every moment we have together. We will love and cherish our children together again.
One of the joys my children bring to me is that they are proud of their accomplishments, whether it was something small or something big. I love to see their proud faces when they tell me what they have accomplished. Today was one of those days for Kayden. He was and has been since school started, been very proud of his paintings and drawings. School was out today and the neighborhood kids(including mine) were drawing and painting outside. Kayden brought his hand painting to me so proud of it and asked for me to take a photo of it. He was so so proud of what he had done. I love you Kayden and your wonderful painting!
